Mentor Program

Tech Coast Works seeks to leverage the skills, knowledge, and networks of experienced experts in our efforts to ensure the success of our portfolio companies. We offer two options for seasoned professionals to participate in the program.

Career Track

The career track is for entrepreneurs who are looking for their next gig. As part of the career track, mentors are matched with portfolio companies based on segment experience, role requirements and other forms of relevant expertise. Initially, career track mentors will provide pro-bono services to portfolio companies. Once a good match is verified by all parties, the mentor will move into an interim executive role where compensation may be equity based. Assuming that all parties continue to be satisfied, the mentor will typically move into a permanent salary-based C-level position upon the company's graduation from incubation.

Volunteer Track

The volunteer track is for community professionals who are not looking for long-term opportunities, but would like to find a way to participate in the Tech Coast Works ecosystem. Volunteer mentors will have the opportunity to work with one or more portfolio companies, providing guidance in their particular areas of expertise. In return for their efforts, these mentors will have the opportunity to expand their personal networks and gain first hard experience working with emerging technologies.
